New Delhi. Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta’s son Junaid Khan has made his acting debut with the recently released Netflix film ‘Maharaj’. He has been successful in impressing the audience with his first film itself. Junaid Khan’s acting in ‘Maharaj’ has been highly appreciated by the audience as well as critics. Junaid Khan, who is in the headlines with his debut film, told in his interview to ETimes that he was about to enter Bollywood with his father’s film 2 years ago, but things did not work out after the audition.

Junaid Khan says in his interview, ‘I had auditioned for ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ about which Papa has spoken in public. I had even lost weight for this film, but things did not work out. Papa wanted me to do this film, but it could not happen’.

Aditya Chopra impressed with the audition clip
Siddharth P Malhotra, director of Junaid Khan’s debut film ‘Maharaj’, revealed that Junaid had auditioned for Aamir Khan’s role in the film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ and after seeing his audition clip, he cast him in ‘Maharaj’. The director says, ‘I and Aditya Chopra cast Junaid Khan in the film after seeing his audition clip of ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. What an audition it was. I hope that one day that audition clip definitely comes out.

The film was a hit on Netflix
Let us tell you, ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ was a Hindi remake of the 1994 Hollywood film ‘Forest Gump’. Apart from Aamir Khan, the film featured Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh. The film faced massive boycott several weeks before its release and did not perform well at the box office. However, the film performed brilliantly on Netflix.
