After the decision of Bombay High Court, Annu Kapoor’s film ‘Humare Barah’ has been released in theatres today (21st June). Before the release of the film, Annu Kapoor and the makers of the film held a press conference to promote the film. However, during the press conference, Annu Kapoor got angry on hearing the name of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Annu Kapoor said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali insults Hindu religion. Actually, Annu Kapoor’s film ‘Humare Barah’ was accused of insulting Islam. The court heard the case and allowed the release of the film after removing the objectionable scenes and dialogues from the film. During the press conference, a reporter asked a question and said, ‘Sanjay Leela Bhansali also makes films, but never defames any community’. Annu Kapoor got angry on hearing this.
Annu Kapoor said, “Did Sanjay Leela Bhansali show Hinduism in a very respectful way in Padmaavat? I am not related to any religion. I am an atheist. I have never had any religious debate, I do not have that much arrogance. The person whose name you just mentioned, what kind of films does he make and how much he has insulted Hinduism…he has even been pelted with shoes and slippers.
