New Delhi: Science-fiction film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is creating a stir at the box office. The craze for Big B, Prabhas starrer movie is still there. Meanwhile, if we talk about the earnings of the week, ‘Kalki’ is close to entering the 400 crore club in India. The film earned Rs 392.45 crore in India, while the worldwide collection has reached Rs 700 crore. With this figure of earnings, the film has left behind Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Jawaan’.
‘Jawaan’ earned Rs 600 crore after a week of its release, while ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has earned Rs 700 crore. However, the film is still far behind ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ in this record. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has earned such a huge amount abroad due to Telugu speaking immigrants.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ was released in theatres on 27 June. It had a great opening at the box office with Rs 95.3 crore on the first day and collected Rs 22.5 crore on the seventh day. Telugu speaking states contributed a lot to this. According to industry tracker Sakanilak, the film earned Rs 8.75 crore in Telugu and Rs 11.3 crore in Hindi on the 7th day. Currently, the morning occupancy of 3D shows in Telugu for the film is 18.32 percent, while the night occupancy is 43.14 percent.

The morning occupancy for 3D shows in Hindi is 13.80 percent, while the night show has an occupancy of 34.69 percent. The film was released in five languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. It is directed by Nag Ashwin. The film stars megastar Amitabh Bachchan, veteran Tamil cinema icon Kamal Haasan, Telugu superstar Prabhas, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.

Talking about the characters, Prabhas has played the role of Bhairava, while Deepika Padukone has played the role of a strong woman Sumati, who fights for the child growing in her womb. Amitabh Bachchan is playing the role of Ashwatthama in the movie. Kamal Haasan has played the role of villain Yaskin, while Disha Patani is playing the role of Roxy. Many stars are in special appearances in the film, including director Ram Gopal Varma, filmmaker SS Rajamouli, actors Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salman and actress Mrunal Thakur.
