Actor Alok Nath, famous as ‘Sanskari Babuji’ in Hindi cinema and TV serials, is celebrating his 68th birthday today. Alok Nath was born on 10 July 1956 in Khagaria, Bihar. He started his career in 1982 with the film ‘Gandhi’. After this, he never looked back. He has appeared in many films. Alok Nath’s father was a doctor and he wanted Alok to become a doctor too. But during his college studies, Alok’s interest in acting started. In such a situation, he joined the Ruchika Theater Group of the college. He studied at the National School of Drama for three years and learned the tricks of acting. After this, in the year 1980, he started his career with the film ‘Gandhi’. His role in this film was small, but it was with this film that he set foot in Bollywood. After the film ‘Gandhi’, Alok Nath came to Mumbai, but he had to struggle hard for another film. He did not get any other film for five years. During this time, he acted with Nadira Babbar in Prithvi Theater for 2 years. At the same time, Alok Nath got a small role in the film ‘Mashal’ which he did. At the same time, you will be surprised to know that even though Alok is known as Sanskari Babu Ji today, in the early stages of his career, he also played roles as a romantic hero. Alok Nath gave many bold scenes in the film ‘Kamagni’ released in 1987. Apart from this, he also played the role of a villain in many films like ‘Vinashak’, ‘Shadyantra’ and ‘Bol Radha Bol’. However, he was liked only in negative roles.

After this, Alok Nath started playing the role of Babu Ji in films. He became famous because of his Babu Ji role. Alok Nath ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’, ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’, ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’. In these films, he played the role of a cultured father. Not only in films, but he has also played the role of a father in many serials. ‘Wo Rehne Wali Mahalon Ki’, ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’, ‘Buniyaad Aur Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai’. These serials helped in making Alok Nath’s cultured image even better. Currently, Alok is away from showbiz. Actually, during the Me Too movement in 2018, writer and filmmaker Vinda Nanda and many women accused Alok Nath of sexual abuse. After these allegations surfaced, Alok Nath stopped getting work and he was not seen in any film or show again. He was last seen in the film ‘De De Pyar De’ which was released in 2019.
