Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 1: The biggest and most awaited film of the year ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ directed by Nag Ashwin has hit the theaters today. It is a dystopian science fiction film and many actors including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani have played strong roles in it. The film has earned more than 50 crores in advance booking even before its release, so the film is expected to perform record-breaking at the box office. It is being said that this film can be the highest opener of the year 2024.

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is one of the most expensive films in Indian cinema. Interestingly, Deepika has collaborated with Prabhas for the first time in this film. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been released in six languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, English and Kannada.
According to a Filmibeat report, producer and film trade analyst Girish Johar said, “It’s a non-holiday Thursday, so I would be happy if the film opens around Rs 15-20 crore. It would be great and it would go on from here and make good numbers. They have released it on a Thursday which is a working and non-holiday day, so overall, I am expecting Prabhas’ fifth 100 crore crosser worldwide which would be a huge achievement.”

According to the report, when asked if ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ can beat Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Fighter’ (opening day collection 22.5 crores) and become the biggest opener of 2024? On this question, Girish Johar said, “It can be the biggest opener of 2024, it can be in the evening as it is going to be wide, but if it is above Rs 24 crores then definitely word of mouth will do wonders. There are some chances of this.”
He further stressed, “Expectations are huge and it is one of the biggest films of Indian cinema with a huge budget, grandeur, scale, promotions. People are excited and the second trailer has done wonders. It is a big opening in South and overseas. Everyone is waiting for the film.” It will be interesting to see how many records Kalki 2898 AD will make at the box office.
