New Delhi. Horror-comedy film ‘Munjya’ proved to be a box office success. Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma have played the lead roles in it. Made on a very low budget, this film has earned more than 100 crores at the box office. Meanwhile, news is coming that Sharvari Wagh was not the first choice of the makers for the film, rather they wanted to cast Alia Bhatt.
While talking to Indian Express, Aditya Sarpotdar told that after his entry as a director in ‘Munjya’, the original script was changed because when writer Yogesh Chandekar wrote the film, he had imagined it as a woman-centric film. This is the reason why Alia Bhatt or Shraddha Kapoor were first considered for the role of Sharvari Wagh.
The script of the film was changed
Aditya said, ‘Yogesh Chandekar had written Munjya as a woman-centric film in which the dilemma was that she (the female character) was in love with her best friend, who is a teenager. This was the angle that was being brought into the story. He said, ‘When I came to this film and read the script, I could not identify the social references in it, because I do not understand it. It would not be right for me to even comment on it.’
