Sharmila Tagore was banned from talking about cricket after Nikahnama, the actress spoke on her marriage to Tiger Ibomma

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore and Tiger Pataudi’s pairing was quite popular. Tiger may not be in this world anymore, but there are still discussions about him. While Sharmila is a film actress, Tiger Pataudi was a well-known cricketer. Recently, while doing an interview with MP Kapil Sibal, Sharmila Tagore talked a lot about her relationship with Tiger.

In the interview, Sharmila jokingly said that she was banned from discussing cricket in the Nikahnama. She said that she does not know much about cricket, but she knows that a lot of money is not required to make a good film. Working with Satyajit Ray taught her that when it comes to making a good film, imagination and creativity are more important than a big budget.

It was part of the Nikahnama not to talk about cricket

While talking with Rajya Sabha MP and well-known lawyer Kapil Sibal, Sharmila Tagore said in an interview that the industry is constantly changing and she is sure that if small films are good, they will find their audience. When Kapil Sibal talked about cricket and IPL, Sharmila laughed and said that I don’t think I am qualified to talk about cricket. It was part of my nikahnama that you will never talk about cricket. Sibal gave the example of IPL and said that just like it brought new talent in place of old players, such a change was not seen in the world of cinema. Even now the stars of the old generation are ruling there.

A big budget is not necessary for a good film

Responding to Kapil Sibal’s question, actress Sharmila Tagore replied, “The word creative itself is a problematic word. Satyajit Ray taught me that you don’t need a big budget to make a good film. You need extraordinary imagination, extraordinary talent and extraordinary understanding of cinema. ‘All We Imagine as Light’ is not an expensive film, but it has won an award at Cannes and I am sure that when this film is released here, a large number of people will go to see it.”
